Meet Stephane Duchanaud

Founder & Cultural Experience Innovator

Born and raised in France, I later spent over two decades on Wall Street in New York City. As an adventure and water sports lover, a kitesurfing trip over 20 years ago led me to Cabarete—and I immediately fell in love! Having traveled extensively across the Caribbean and the world, I’ve never found a place quite like it.
I knew I would move there one day. In 2019, I made that dream come true. I relocated to Cabarete with my family.
A true gourmand and bon vivant, my passion for cooking and bringing people together only grew stronger here. Inspired by the richness of local
ingredients and the desire to share a more genuine side of the Dominican Republic beyond the typical resort experience, I envisioned a unique vacation that blends it all together.
And that’s how PALATE was born—an authentic, immersive experience for those seeking
something beyond the ordinary.
